Archdiocese of Santa Fe - COVID-2019 Information

We begin the season of Lent this week on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 26th.  We will have Masses at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. for school, 12:15 noon and 5:30 p.m. at the end of which ashes will be distributed.  Remember that Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence, while the other Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat, a sacrifice to commemorate the Lord’s passion.  The precept for abstinence binds those 14 years of age and older while the precept for fasting binds those from 18 years of age to 59, unless there are health considerations.

We will host the traditional soup suppers at 6:00 p.m. and the Lenten Stations of the Cross each Friday beginning with a meditation at 7:00 p.m.  The parish mission will begin March 9th beginning at 7:00 p.m. for three evenings through the 11th, presented by Fr. Thomas P. Voorhies, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Ville Platte, Louisiana.

PRESENTER: Fr. Thomas Voorhies, Pastor,

Our Lenten Mission offers us the opportunity gain a fresh perspective on our baptismal                     call to holiness as we journey through “these forty days” of Lent.  Although Lent is considered a “penitential season” in the Church Year, it is really a time for renewal: of heart, mind, and spirit as we turn – or return – and follow more closely the way of Jesus Christ.
Please note: There will be no 5:30pm Masses
on Mon., March 9 – Wed., March 11.

You are invited to join other members of the Parish in a simple meal of soup and bread, prepared and served by the many different ministries of the parish.  The Soup Suppers are served each Lenten Friday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Community Center.  There is no Soup Supper on Good Friday, April 10.

                      Lenten Fridays:  7:00 PM
On Lenten Friday, you are invited to a series of Lenten Reflections followed by Stations of the Cross.  Make time during this season of renewal for a moment of reflection on Jesus’ final walk to Calvary and the true meaning of the glory of the cross.  The Stations of the Cross, a devotion started by St. Francis of Assisi, can help us enter into the mystery of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.

We are in the process of updating our Parish list of staff and volunteers for the Archdiocese.  Last year the Archdiocesan Policy changed to require the abuse prevention awareness training to be updated every 5 years and that all employees and volunteers must complete the training as soon as possible.  If you are a current volunteer who’s training has exceeded 5 years or a new volunteer, your training must be completed by September 30th or you may not be able to volunteer until your training is complete. There are options to complete the training: 1–attend a class offered by the Archdiocese (to see the current schedule go to and click on "Promise to Protect and Pledge to Heal" and in the left column scroll down and click on "Schedule of Workshops"; 2–take the VIRTUS online training at and click on the VIRTUS link:  Once you have completed your training please provide a copy of your certificate for our records.  Thank you for your cooperation so that we may be in full compliance with the Archdiocesan policies for a safe environment.
