“Make music to the Lord with the harp , with the harp and the sound of singing...” (Psalm 98)
The Parish Mixed Choir is a choral group of men and women that is open to all! Regardless of your vocal abilities, even if the last time you sang in a choir was in high school more years ago that you care to say, come and sing with us! This choir performs a variety of music in a variety of styles, from unison pieces to four-part anthems, and Gregorian chant to American spirituals. The Parish Mixed Choir sings every two to three weeks at weekend Masses and leads the assembly at major liturgies: Christmas, Holy Week, Pentecost, and other special occasions such as RCIA Rite of Sending
Rehearsals for this all-volunteer choir are held every Thursday night from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The Rehearsal Schedule typically starts the Thursday after Labor Day and runs through Pentecost Sunday, or perhaps Memorial Day. Our Choir Accompanist is George White, a wonderful pianist who also plays for several Masses each weekend. Choir music is rehearsed well in advance of performance; if you must miss a rehearsal, you will still have plenty of opportunity to learn our repertoire.
If you like to sing, if you’d like to take a more active part in the liturgy, get up from your pew and join the choir!
